As a Game Programmer on the team, I worked on core gameplay systems that needed to perform reliably at scale across a wide range of Android and iOS devices. Battle royale games are uniquely demanding – large maps, dozens of concurrent players, real-time networking, and weapon systems that all need to feel responsive on mobile hardware with varying specs.
The biggest technical challenges involved network optimization for smooth multiplayer on unstable mobile connections, memory management to keep the game running on lower-end devices, and building gameplay features that were fun and competitive without sacrificing performance. Shipping a game of this scale in the Indian mobile market taught me a lot about building for real-world constraints rather than ideal conditions.
